ABSTRACT
In the scree slope “Seehalde” near Präg/Todtnau (Black Forest, Germany; 600 m a.s.l.) specimens of the alpine subgenus Nebriola K. DANIEL, 1903 (genus Nebria LATREILLE, 1802) have been trapped and are described as Nebria( Nebriola) praegensis sp. nov. A determination key for all taxa of the subgenus Nebriola is given. The larvae are also de scribed; no larval instars of the subgenus Nebriolahave been described so far. With the exception of the Pyrenean species N. lariolleiGERMINY, 1865, this is the first extra alpine record of a Nebriolaspecies and at the same time the first record of a Nebriola species for Germany, and for a colline altitude. The population at Präg may have survived as a periglacial relict of the last glaciation thanks to the local air-conditioned scree slope
ecosystem.

Keywords: Coleoptera, Carabidae, Nebria, Nebriola, new species, larvae, scree slopes with air-conditioning effects, periglacial relict population, psychrophilic, Black Forest,
Germany, determination key.
